The Bryant Boys and Girls Club presented a limited-edition commemorative shirt Wednesday morning, November 9th, to the family of Travis Wood. Debbie Broadway of the Club presented several shirts in different sizes to Dena Wood, Travis’ mother, for their family members to wear proudly. Travis Wood is a pitcher on the Major League Baseball (MLB) team, the 2016 World Series Champions, the Chicago Cubs.
It came natural for the local Club to want to honor Wood because of the National Partnership between the Boys & Girls Clubs of America with MLB during the World Series. Stated Apparel, also in Bryant worked with the Club to design and print this special collection of shirts.
This presentation goes along with the Homecoming Celebration for Wood on Friday, November 11th. Wood played in the seven-game 2016 World Series versus the Cleveland Indians, culminating in a 4-3 tournament, with the Cubs winning the series for the first time since 1908. Wood is Bryant High School graduate from 2005.
The video below shows the presentation of the shirt by the Board of Directors of the Bryant Boys & Girls Club to Dena Wood, Travis Wood’s mother.
