MySaline gets all kinds of messages from readers – mostly breaking news, questions about business and construction or it’s somebody who wants us to promote something. And it’s mostly adults. But there are some exceptional kids doing things for their community in this area.
Maria Perez is one of them. She’s a senior at Benton High School and she has a very special dream. She wants to become a doctor in Pediatric Oncology one day. Part of getting into college these days is showing that you’ve done community service. So Maria is on the hunt right now for lots of people to show up for a local blood drive. I promised her I would help get the word out.
The blood drive is at Walmart in Benton on January 15th and you can use this link to make an appointment in the time range of 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. http://www.redcrossblood.org/rcbmobile/drive/chooseDonationTime.jsp?zipFormat=false When you get to the page (it looks like the gif below), type in 72015 for the location.
