Benton Public Schools has built the new Mountain View Middle School and needs help to determine which students will attend this one, and which ones will go to Benton Middle School. They’ve also released a map 👇of the current proposed rezoning. Read more below and see the map.
The School Board held a public meeting about this pivotal issue on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. They are still looking to hear from parents and others. Mountain View Middle School will open in the fall of 2025, according to a social media post from Benton Schools.
Under the current proposal, the rezoning line will be as follows:
Mountain View Middle School attendees will come from students currently enrolled at:

- Caldwell Elementary,
- Mountain View Elementary, and
- Ringgold Elementary students who reside inside the area outlined on the map below.
Benton Middle School attendees will come from currently enrolled at:

- Howard Perrin Elementary,
- Angie Grant Elementary, and
- Ringgold Elementary students who reside outside the area outlined on the map below.

The border of the outlined area is as follows:
- North/Northwest – Interstate 30
- North/Northeast – Carpenter Road
- East – East Street
- South/Southeast – Railroad Tracks
- South/Southwest – Saline River

Benton Schools will hold a drop-in Public Meeting on Tuesday, December 10th to discuss the rezoning of the school district’s middle schools. Read more below.
The Board of Directors released a notice on social media, reminding parents to come to this meeting:
The Benton School District is preparing for the opening of Mountain View Middle School in the fall of 2025. To accommodate this exciting addition, proposed rezoning plans have been developed to determine which students will attend each middle school.
Under the current proposal:
Students attending Caldwell Elementary, Mountain View Elementary, and parts of Ringgold Elementary will attend Mountain View Middle School.
Students attending Howard Perrin Elementary, Angie Grant Elementary, and other parts of Ringgold Elementary will attend Benton Middle School.
