Approval of the Minutes of the October 3rd, 2023, Planning Commission Meeting
Chairman Stilwell asked if there were any additions, deletions, or corrections to the minutes. Commissioner West makes a motion to approve the minutes as is. Commissioner Gibson second. Motion carried.
Chairman Stilwell makes a motion to amend the agenda – item b. [105 Austin Lane – Variance] under Board of Adjustments and item a. [Spencer’s Crossing Phase 1 – Final Plat] under Planning Commission was withdrawn by the applicant.
Board of Adjustments
1122 Cherry Lane [Variance]
Chairman Stilwell asks Ms. Matthews to introduce the Variance request for 1122 Cherry Lane. Ms. Matthews reads the memorandum that states that Vernon Williams [GarNat Engineering] and the property owners are requesting approval of variance at 1122 Cherry Lane. The purpose of this variance is to allow this parcel to reduce the left side setback from 5’ to 0.2’. Ms. Matthews states that the house already exists and was built in the incorrect location. Chairman Stilwell calls for any questions or comments regarding this request. George Wooden, with GarNat Engineering speaks in favor of this item. A neighbor comes forward to speak against the item due to drainage issues. Discussion is made around the room regarding the number of variance requests that are being asked for after a home is already built. Commissioner Burks makes a motion to table this item until December. Commissioner West second. Motion Carried.

Saline Manor [Rezone]
Commissioner West makes a motion to table this item since there is no one present to represent the item. Commissioner Burks second. Motion carried.
CTE Solar Farm [Conditional Use for Solar Panel Farm]
Chairman Stilwell asks Ms. Matthews to introduce the Conditional Use request for CTE Solar Farm. Ms. Matthews reads the memorandum that states that Saline County CTE is requesting approval of a Conditional Use so that they can have a Solar Panel Farm at their CTE School. Chairman Stilwell calls for any questions or comments regarding this request. JD Pool speaks in favor of this item. Discussion is made around the room regarding the use of the Solar Panel Farm. Commissioner West makes a motion to approve this request. Commissioner Gibson second. Motion carried 7-0. Since this is a Conditional Use request, it will go before City Council on 11.27.2023 for final approval.
