The City of Benton is looking for public opinion on future park improvements. In a project called 2040 Vision for Benton Parks, the City addresses underutilized natural resources with public access and recreation.
A statement from the City on Monday said, “The future park system will connect many neighborhoods throughout Benton and bring together all five wards. This proposal provides a new vision for the natural spaces found all around Benton and the Saline River.”
You may have seen and filled out this survey before. That’s because this survey also went out to the public before the Benton City Council passed an Advertisement and Promotions (A&P) Tax to help fund the 2040 Vision.
In the City’s statement, it said, “the City wanted to re-administer the survey after the passing of the tax to assure that every citizen of the City of Benton had the opportunity to provide their input into the recreation facilities selected.”
The City also stated that the goal of the tax is to “provide quality of life amenities that will not only serve the citizens of the City of Benton but will also attract visitors as a tourist destination.”
The bottom line is, the Benton Parks & Recreation Department is asking what specific recreational facilities should be funded by the tax.
The survey will be open August 16th-August 27th. Take the survey online at https://surveyhero.com/c/a599803d or pick up a paper copy at one of these locations:
