Benton Mayor Tom Farmer issued a statement Tuesday morning to address concerns about whether or not the city would make it mandatory to wear a mask within the city.
Farmer stated via social media, “It is not my intention to pass an ordinance requiring a mask at this time.” However, he went on to say, “I personally believe that everyone that steps foot in public should be wearing a mask.”
He said masks not only protect yourself but also others, and even though it’s uncomfortable, “If we’re going to get past this the best we can, we need to wear our mask.”
