Police seek a Benton man who allegedly beat a victim to near death and fled.
Benton Police Department responded to a residence on Line Back Dunn Road at approximately 7:30 a.m. Thursday in reference to an escaped victim who had been held hostage and severely beaten. Officers canvassed the area and determined the suspect, Gary Griffin, age 62, of Benton, had left the scene in one of the family vehicles.
Officers later recovered the suspect vehicle at a Hot Springs hospital. The suspect was seen on video footage fleeing the area on foot and has not been seen since. If you see him, please do not approach him, as he is considered armed and dangerous. Instead, call 911 – or reach out to the Benton Police Department tip line or any other number listed below.
Griffin is wanted for the following charges:
Criminal Attempt to Commit Capital Murder;
Kidnapping;
Domestic Battery 1st Degree;
Aggravated Assault on a Family or Household Member;
Terroristic Threatening 1st;
and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
