The City of Benton has approved a new way to license your dogs and cats. Previously, the only method of keeping your pets legit was to purchase an annual license. Recently, the City Council approved a license that spans the lifetime of your pet.
City licenses are required for all dogs and cats residing within the city limits of Benton. Your cats and dogs should wear the city license on their collar along with their rabies tag. In a statement on social media, Benton Animal Control says the tags are very important and help them to identify stray animals that are found and return them to their families.
A license for a spayed or neutered dog or cat is $20 for a lifetime or $7 each year. If they are intact, the license is $40 for a lifetime or $20 each year. These prices are for each animal you own.
To get a city license, stop by Benton Animal Control at 606 Willow Street, off S. Market. They will need your pet’s current rabies information and your ID.
