The statement came to parents by email from Superintendent Dr. Kim Anderson. She stated that the threat was made by a student, and that staff and local authorities addressed it “immediately and effectively.”
The student was removed from campus, and other steps were taken for safety for students and staff. Anderson did not disclose the nature of the threat, but appealed to parents to speak to their children about the act of making threats, as well as reporting threats.
“Please be assured that we take these matters very seriously,” stated Anderson. “The safety and well-being of our students and staff is always our top priority. We strongly encourage you to speak with your children about the seriousness of making threats and the importance of reporting any threats immediately to school staff.”
