If you’ve ever been to eat here, you’ll know from the picture above where I am talking about. I ate at Riverside Grocery & Catering for lunch Friday on Highway 5 in Benton, and checked in on Facebook to show off my food. Owner Rick Bellinger wasn’t in the restaurant but called and let me know he saw my check-in.
I said, “Well where were you??” and he began to tell me about opening another location soon in Hot Springs. That’s news to me, so I got all the details.
I asked if this restaurant would be called Lakeside instead, because of the big bodies of water in Hot Springs. He agreed that would be a good idea, except that he wants to stick with the brand name that he’s worked so hard to build. This restaurant will be called Riverside Cafe. The logo will still look very similar.
The next thing you’ll want to know is what’s on the menu. They will have catfish, chicken, burgers and sandwiches. And yes, they have already applied for a permit to serve beer.
Rick said the goal is to open the first week of April. Note that there’s another Riverside opening April 1st, but it’s the new Riverside Park complex that the City of Benton is opening. So just remember, there are two “Riversides” opening in the beginning of April!
The address for the new restaurant is 1534 Malvern Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas, in Indiandale Shopping Center, next to Walmart Neighborhood Market. Below are a Google Map and a Google Streetview of the location. Click an image to enlarge it.
Even though this new location won’t be in Saline County, Rick Bellinger still lives here and I’m very proud of a great “regular guy” who has continued to expand his business and keep the same quality over the years. Congrats on the new location!
