The Benton Police Department is currently investigating a fatal accident on the frontage road. In a statement, the BNPD said there was a vehicle versus a pedestrian that they were call to, just after 9:30 a.m. Chief Hodges stated that the pedestrian is deceased.
A later update stated that the victim was an adult female who died on the scene. The victim was identified as Lori Burrow, age 52, of Benton.
The accident took place in the 17,900 block of the north frontage road. This is in front of Relax Inn but officials have not said the business is related.
The frontage road was closed for the investigation but is now open again. The BNPD Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and assumed the investigation which remains ongoing. The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with the investigation.
