Everybody knows about the many members of the federal government, but only a few think about those who work in our local government and do more for their own communities. Trevor Villines is one of those in our local government here in Saline County who does a lot of his work behind the scenes.
Trevor got his start in local government when he was just a kid while his father was serving as the Tax Collector for Saline County. Trevor’s desire to succeed has always been honest and rooted in hard work.

“After high school, in between that and college, I got to work for the Saline County clerk, Dough Curtis. It started out as sort of a summer job, just moving some boxes in the back, but later led to a communications role.”
Even though his father worked for the county, Trevor didn’t use this fact to try and get an easy way into the local government. He was able to work his way up from a manual laborer position and use his network and skills to get into a position that was best suited to his skills and connection to the community.
It’s safe to say that many people involved in government work often let their titles get to their heads or even go as far as getting too involved and worried about their image as a local public figure. Trevor Villines has remained focused on his desire to truly help the community he lives in.
“The “service above self” motto I try to live out in everything I do when it comes to the people of Saline County.” This short motto that Trevor lives by is enough to show his true selflessness and dedication to his community here in Saline County.
