The City of Benton Community Services Committee will meet on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, immediately following the Parks & Streets meetings at 5pm (click to see those agendas). Discussion topics will include ?fireworks usage, ?️properties to be condemned, ?soil testing, and ?️town hall meetings.

Council Chair Evelyn Reed, declares a quorum and calls the meeting to order. Introductions are made around the room. Council Chair Reed made a motion to entertain approval of the March 14th minutes, Council member Frank Baptist made a motion, Council member Jeff Hamm seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Community Services Agenda:
ITEM A – NEW BUSINESS (DISCUSSION OR REVIEW OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE AND FRANCHISE AGREEMENT FOR PAFFORD MEDICAL SERVICES)
Mr. Parton stated that the agreement was basically an update to the existing franchise agreement with Pafford. Council member Judd Hart asked about certain time frames and criteria, wanting to know how these things are to be addressed. Mayor Farmer said that once there is a complaint, it will be taken up with Pafford. Council member Hart also asked if the City Attorney had reviewed everything and Mayor Farmer stated that he had read it earlier in the day. Council Chair Reed asked for any questions or discussions. Council member Jeff Hamm made a motion to approve the ordinance, Council member Shane Knight seconded the motion to approve the franchise agreement with Pafford Medical Services. Motion approved.

CONFIRM APPOINTMENTS TO THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION

Council member Shane Knight made a motion to approve the ordinance, Council member Jeff Hamm seconded the motion. Council chair Reed asked if they needed to be done separately. Council member Knight made the motion to approve Mr. Henson with Council member Hamm seconding the motion. The motion was approved for Mr. Henson. Council member Knight then approved the motion for Ms. Pridgen, Council member Hamm seconded the motion. The motion was approved for Ms. Pridgen.
