The City of Benton is taking applications for an open seat on the City Council. The application deadline is Friday, May 26, 2017.
A Benton City Council position in Ward 2 became available in April, when longtime public servant Charles Cunningham passed away.
I did a video interview with Benton City Attorney Brent Houston shortly after, to discuss options to fill the seat. Council could either hold an election or appoint someone to finish the term. The latter method was chosen.
