RESOLUTION NO. OF 2022
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH (GES) GENERATED ENERGY SOLUTIONS, LLC FOR PROVIDING EMERGENCY GENERATOR PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE SERVICES TO THE CITY AT 114 SOUTH EAST STREET; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Benton requested quotations for supplying Preventative Maintenance services to the City for the backup generator, which is a professional service; and WHEREAS, GES has the professional qualifications and capabilities to provide the Preventative Maintenance services to Benton Utilities for a cost savings to the City; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to enter into an agreement with GES for providing these services for the 3-year period 2022 to 2024 to commence on February 21, 2022 and expire on January 1, 2025 and will automatically renew annually unless terminated by the City or GES via providing a 30-day written notification.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Benton, Arkansas, that:
SECTION 1: The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute, on behalf the City of Benton, an agreement with GES for providing Preventative Maintenance services to the City on an as-needed basis. The City Attorney will approve the agreement prior to its execution.

Annual Maintenance GenSet Kohler 250KW Location: 114 South East Street, Benton, Ar. 72015 January 1st Thru December 31st, 2022
With option of (3) year thru December 31st, 2024 with a COL yearly price increase not to exceed 8%
Contract Includes:
*Replace engine lubricating oil and remove from premises.
*Replace oil, oil filter and coolant filters, add corrosion inhibitor as needed. *Natural gas/LPS fueled engines-check all sparks plug, ignition system, rotor cap, wires, and points. Replace with customers approval. (Additional cost) *Check air filter crankcase breakers.
*Check and adjust belts as required.
*Check genset for loose, bare, broken wiring or connections.
*Check governor operation, stability linkage and oil.
*Check engine, heaters, radiator, hoses and heat exchanger for leaks and condition.
*Check condition of batteries (load test) electrolyte level and charge rate. *Start and run engine, check pressures and temperatures.
*Check unit for proper frequency/speed, voltage and amperage. *2-hour full load test
Excluded (Additional Cost)
*Major engine components, starter, water pump, fuel pump, Etc. *Replacement of batteries or charger.
*Replacement of belts and hoses.
*Replacement of block heater.
*Replacement of parts not specified above.
*Adjusting of valves is not included in contract.
Materials used will be charged at current trade price in addition to contract price including air filters, hoses, antifreeze and spark plugs.
Service call rates: 7:00am to 3:30pm $125.00
After hours and weekends $135.00
Cost of service contract shall be $1,307.43
This will be a single visit per generator per year. Diesel Generator shall have a 2- hour load test annually. All work is to be done during regular business hours. Either party may terminate the Contract at anytime by providing a 30-day written notification.
