Saline County Library Offers a Variety of FREE Holiday Events for All Ages

The Saline County Library branches (the Bob Herzfeld Memorial Library branch in Benton, the Mabel Boswell Memorial Library branch in Bryant, and the East End branch) offer various free holiday-themed events to the community. These events are targeted at all ages and include creating holiday crafts and gifts, storytimes for children, gift-wrapping sessions that provide supplies, and more. Patrons with and without Saline County library cards are encouraged to attend programs and participate in the annual Winter Challenge. Click Here for the full list of all the Christmas events.
The Saline County Library has been serving the residents of Saline County since 1931 and has three locations: Benton, Bryant, and East End. Each location provides wireless access computing, desktop computers for guest use, and several other non-traditional items such as video games, cake pans, small tools, and more. Battle of the Businesses

The Saline County Library is excited to put a twist on our annual fall food and hygiene product drive. We are taking it back to the businesses and seeing who wants to go head to head by gathering the most donated items and taking home the Golden Belt! Starting November 12^th and going through November 30th, we are asking businesses to place donation boxes in their buildings or lobbies and encourage customers and staff to help us stock our 3 pantry boxes. We have a pantry at each location in Benton, Bryant, and East End. Our pantries are stocked at least 1-2 times weekly and we are currently COMPLETELY EMPTY! Our community uses these pantries daily in a judgment-free, no-questions-asked manner.
We need your help to stock the pantries for another 6 months. I have attached a flyer, complete with a list of items needed, for you to use at your locations or you may create your materials. If you would like to participate, please let me know so I can add you to our website page so people can know where to drop off donations. If you need a box, let me know and I will get you one.
What do you win??? Glad you asked! Other than a cool Golden Belt until our next annual drive and bragging rights, your business will also receive mentions through the library’s social media (over 13,000 Facebook followers), email newsletter in December (sent to over 21,000 patrons), and signage displayed at the library through January 31st. Click Here for the flyer.

The Saline County Library will host its annual Winter Challenge

The Saline County Library will host its annual Winter Challenge for all ages from November 25, 2024, through January 31, 2025, at all three library branches (the Bob Herzfeld Memorial Library branch in Benton, the Mabel Boswell Memorial Library branch in Bryant, and East End branch). This program intends to encourage everyone to read, with the message that “Reading is reading.” Every media and story, from traditional prose books to illustrated comic books and graphic novels, to even narratives on television, count towards trackable goals, with prizes redeemed at the library.
The adult Winter Reading Challenge will have a tracker of reading goals throughout the period, with milestones of reading any amount for 40 days, reading over 30 minutes for 40 days, and completing 10 books. Bauxite Historical Association Museum is located at 6707 Benton Rd in Bauxite, AR – Saline County. The Bauxite Community Hall is available for rental for events.

Rental is available for up to 100 guests, 101-200 guests, or over 200 guests. The rental fee is $125 per hour, a minimum of four hours. Any rental over four hours will be $100 per hour.
