Saline County Library Launches ” I Love My Library” Campaign
Saline County Library
The Saline County Library announces its “I Love My Library” campaign, running from February 1st until April 1st, followed by a prize drawing on April 2nd. To be entered for the drawing, patrons must fill out a 3 – 5 minute survey describing their experiences with the library. The prize being offered is a new Amazon Kindle. Patrons must be 18 years or older to be eligible to win the prize; those under 18 years of age may still fill out the survey but will not be entered into the drawing.
Patrons are encouraged to interact with the library by commenting and sharing on social media platforms like Instagram and LinkedIn, as well as “heart reacts” on Facebook. Additionally, the library will have a temporary station in the branches where patrons can write a brief quote about why they love the library on a heart-shaped note. Selected quotes from this installation, online comments, and survey responses will be featured on social media leading up to National Library Week beginning April 6th.
In 2023, patrons submitted their testimonials regarding the library, including:
“I love the joy, love, and life that fills the air when I walk through the enormous door. I feel at home when I walk through the rows of books that fill the space. No place I’d rather be.” – Amelia
“I like the library because it provides many social opportunities for kids of all ages, and I take the theatre class here as well!” – Laney.
“You have the books I need and the books I love!” – Anonymous
“I love everything this library is about.” – Chris
The library offers a variety of resources for entertainment and learning. Beyond its large collection of fiction and nonfiction books, patrons can also check out board games, video games, gardening supplies, crafting tools, and much more in its “Library of Things.”
Larger professional equipment such as a 3D printer, sewing machine, and button maker are available for use within the Makerspace, a dedicated room equipped with tools for creative projects. The supplies within the Makerspace including paintbrushes, yarn, scissors, tape, glue, and fabric, are free for the public to use during open Makerspace hours. 3D printer filament is offered at 100 grams for free per patron per month, and patrons can purchase additional filament at cost.
The library also offers a selection of online sources of entertainment for watching movies (Kanopy, Hoopla), listening to music (Freegal), and reading ebooks and magazines (Libby, Hoopla). These can be accessed via applications downloaded to either a mobile device or online on your computer’s web browser.
Saline County Library has open learning and career resources available online, including GaleEbooks, Udemy online learning, BlueCareer training and resume resources, Pronunciator for learning new languages, and many more. Additionally, the library offers free access to a variety of local news articles, including The Saline Courier, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, and Hot Springs Village Voice.
Following the success of the “Seed Library,” a program allowing patrons to reserve packets of seeds, the Saline County Library will launch “SCL Gardens,” an initiative to further support local gardeners through projects, programs, and education.
All of these items and services are entirely free to all Saline County library card holders. The Saline County Library is currently drafting its 2026-2029 Strategic Plan, and all data collected in the survey will be used to tailor future materials, services, and programs to best fit the community.
The Saline County Library has been serving the residents of Saline County since 1931 and has three locations: Benton, Bryant, and East End. Each location provides wireless access computing, desktop computers for guest use, and several other non-traditional items such as video games, cake pans, small tools, and more. The Saline County Library also provides a variety of events and community outreach programs. For a full list of services and upcoming events, visit www.salinecountylibrary.org or call 501-778-4766. The Saline County Library East End Branch Celebrates One Year of Service with a Birthday Party Open to the Public
Saline County Library – East End
The third branch of the Saline County Library, the East End Branch, was opened to the public on April 1st, 2024. On April 1st, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the library will hold festivities open to the public celebrating the accomplishments achieved during their first year.
The event will feature craft and game stations for all ages and free snacks.
Since its opening, it has already had over 14,000 visitors. The East End branch has signed up over 900 new library cards in the area, and patrons have logged over 400 hours in the free computer lab.
Following the success of Saline County’s annual food drive initiative, “The Battle of the Businesses,” the East End branch was able to open a community pantry, offering free food and hygiene products to anyone in need. The “Battle of the Businesses” food drive exceeded expectations, receiving record donations nearly triple of what had been previously donated in 2023.
The library has noted that patrons are welcome to donate food and hygiene products to the East End Library as “birthday presents,” which will help keep the pantry stocked for those in need. Items requested include dry, shelf-stable goods, diapers, and shampoo and conditioner. Donations are not required to attend the event.

Royal Players Presents Rumors
Royal Players
The Royal Players invite you to join them for side-splitting laughter as they bring Neil Simon’s Rumors to life. Rumors hit the stage April 3rd-13th. This production is sponsored by the W. W. & Anne Jones Charitable Trust. Written by Tony Award-winning playwright, Neil Simon, Rumors is a beloved fast-paced comedy that is guaranteed to have audiences laughing from curtain to curtain. At a large, tastefully appointed Sneden’s Landing townhouse, the Deputy Mayor of New York has just shot himself. Though it’s only a flesh wound, Charlie Brock’s self-inflicted injury sets off a series of events causing four couples to experience a severe attack of farce. As their tenth wedding anniversary party commences, Charlie is left bleeding in another room, and his wife Myra is nowhere in sight. The first guests, lawyer Ken Gorman and his wife Chris scramble to get “the story” straight before the other guests arrive. As the confusions and miscommunications mount, the evening spins off into classic farcical hilarity. The cast features several familiar actors as well as a few new faces to the Royal’s stage including Jeremy Clay, Summer Brinley, Ben Wright, Jamie Partain, Drew Ellis, Susan Thomey, Amy Armstrong, Trevor Armstrong, Tyler Berg, and Sarah Berg. The production is directed by Tyler Berg, produced by Carrie Clay, and stage managed by Ria Colvert. Rumors is produced by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com. Th
