The agenda meeting among council members is at 5:30 p.m. The council meeting immediately follows. The public is invited. The location is at the Benton Municipal Complex, 114 S. East St., Benton, AR 72015.
• Topics of discussion and possible vote by City Council in this meeting include:
• executing a “certificate of power purchaser,” the discharge of firearms in the city limits,
• a pre-annexation agreement with the White family,
• a tax lien on 318 Shady Lane, reappointing Brett Chumley, Darrell Wood, and Alissa Turner to Benton Historic District Commission, purchase of video security for the new City Hall at River Street,
• accepting an audit by BLA,
• sale of surplus,
• high school swim team use of Riverside Park,
• high school tennis team use of Tyndall Park,
• Wolves Youth Academy providing services to Benton,
• creating a position for City Project Manager/Building Inspector,
• changing pay for general fund, street, animal services, parks dept officials and employees,
• changing fee that let Fire Dept recoup costs for non-emergency calls,
• conditional use for an indoor gun range at #800-57202-000 (aka Fleming Dr at Interstate 30, behind Wood Grill and Popeye’s), and finally
• a partnership between ARDOT and the City of Benton for the Highway 229 Improvement Project.
