The Benton City Council voted Tuesday night to block new billboard signs along Military Road for the next six months. This will give the City time to create a new sign ordinance to address traffic safety and light pollution.

An Ordinance relating to land use and zoning; adopting and immediate moratorium on the acceptance of applications for all new or existing installations, permits, erection, construction, replacement, modification, or improvement of static or changing electronic, digital or changeable message on or off premise billboards along Interstate 30 or any off premise 1 and 2 pole signs or any other off premise advertising panel or signs outside the Interstate zones and within all zoning districts. - Adjourn
