Benton City Council met on October 28, 2024 with this item on their agenda:
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CONTRACT WITH MOSER CONSTRUCTION UTILIZING
$500,000 OF AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT FUNDS AND
$1,765,575 OF GENERAL FUNDS
FOR EXPENDITURES ASSOCIATED WITH THE BUILD OF A NEW ANIMAL SERVICES FACILITY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
The Animal Services Facility is currently located just around the corner at 606 Willow Street, south of the railroad tracks and west of Market Street. The new facility will be much larger, and visible to passersby. Benton Animal Control is a no-kill shelter. The animals are all spayed or neutered and adopted into new homes.
The office is open 7 days:
- Monday-Friday: 8am-5pm,
- Saturday 9am-2pm, and
- Sunday 1pm-4pm.
Outside of office hours, there is an Animal Control Officer on duty 7am-1am 7 days a week at 501-776-5972.
