There’s a new baking company coming to town that promises extreme cookies, loaded with toppings. Katie Baxter is the “blonde” in Blonde Bakes, the rich dessert cookies that are big enough for two or three people.
Baxter currently serves the Conway area, but she has family in Saline County and so they will soon start delivery days in the Benton/Bryant area.
“We are hoping to be open by August 8th,” stated Baxter. “We’re an online store, but we offer pickup every Friday 4-6 p.m. and Saturday 8-10 a.m.”
They also offer delivery an do events if you give enough advance notice.
Blonde Bakes is a locally owned business, named after Katie. “I was an EMT but had a sweet baby boy a couple months ago,” she said. “I have always loved baking and decided I wanted to switch careers to be able to spend more time with him.”
Baxter said her favorites are Give Me S’more and PB Dreams, but there are seven different cookie varieties that will always be on the menu. They add a different featured cookie to the lineup each week.
As for whether they plan to open a storefront, Baxter says the COVID-19 pandemic has made pickup and delivery their best option for now, but they hope to open their real doors eventually in Bryant.
