A North Little Rock man led police for a half mile before getting arrested with alleged meth and more. On Thursday, October 12, 2023, Alexander Petrides was driving through Bauxite in a gold GMC Yukon when Bauxite Police Officers attempted a traffic stop. The Marshal’s Office assisted.
According to a report from Bauxite PD, the vehicle had expired or fictitious tags. Mr. Petrides didn’t stop immediately, but continued at a speed of about 40 mph while the Officers’ lights and sirens were activated. Instead of pulling over, Petrides continuously waved his arm out of the window, as if to tell the Officers to go around. Officers noticed the subject appeared to be moving things around inside the vehicle.

One of the Officers then got on the public address system and advised Petrides to stop. The subject then slowly pulled over to the right, just south of Aaronfield in the city limits of Benton.
Bauxite Officers made contact with Petrides and found he was a convicted felon and was on parole with a search waver on file. Petrides was also found not to have a driver’s license or insurance.
Upon searching the vehicle, Officers found a small amount of marijuana. They then found two plastic bags each containing about an ounce of what appeared to be methamphetamine. An ounce is about the size of a golf ball, and this was two of those. Officers then found a syringe and several credit and debit cards that were in other people’s names, along with debit card numbers and names written on paper.
Officers contacted the parole officer for Mr. Petrides, who stated he has not been reporting to her. Petrides was arrested on a list of charges:
