Alvin Jones
Coach Jones served as Head Football Coach and Athletic Director at Bauxite from 19841989. His coaching career was short but memorable. Coach Jones’s teams won conference championships in 1986, 1987, 1988, and 1989.

The Miner teams that played for Coach learned the value of hard work and discipline resulting in success in sports and life. He led by the examples of achievement in sports set at Benton High School and the University of Arkansas.
Coach Jones was a mentor, friend, and the biggest fan of all the kids he coached as they moved on. With all his success, his ultimate goal was for all his players to win at life by being good men and mentors for the next generation.
Coach had a servant’s heart and loved helping those around him be their best. He would later return to Bauxite to serve as High School principal.
His final contribution to Bauxite Schools was to serve in the role of Superintendent. Coach Jones is survived by his two biggest cheerleaders, daughters Jenny and Rachel.
