A Bauxite man was arrested Thursday, April 15th, and is accused of assaulting his neighbor with a pickaxe, according to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office(SCSO).
Deputies answered a call on S. Summit in Bauxite, where a victim said he was driving by his neighbor’s house, and the neighbor, James Michael Warner, age 59, threatened to kill him, while wielding a homemade pickaxe.
According to the police report, the victim stated that Warner walked to the roadway, making threats to “kill his a** if he called the cops again.”
The victim stated that he attempted to leave, but his vehicle died. The victim said Warner struck him with his hand but he blocked it, then Warner grabbed a homemade pickaxe from the bed of the victim’s truck and acted like he was going to strike him with it several times, and kept saying, “I’m going to kill your a**.”
When questioned by a deputy, Warner initially denied the assault, but a witness had video that matched the victim’s story.
Warner was placed under arrest and charged with:
- aggravated assault,
- terroristic threatening and
- theft of property.
The deputy stated that while placing Warner in the SCSO vehicle, he noticed a pickaxe in Warner’s driveway that fit the victim’s assault description.
