If you’re a single parent looking to pay for college classes, apply for this annual scholarship until March 15th.
Eligible single parents are invited to apply for Summer 2023 scholarships at aspsf.org/applynow. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, March 15, 2023. Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF) awards scholarships up to $1,200 to eligible single parents who are attending college or obtaining technical training. A full list of eligibility guidelines is available at aspsf.org/eligibility.
“This scholarship has helped with so much within just a matter of a few months of joining. The organizers of this scholarship have created something so thoughtful and so helpful,” said recipient Calea, who’s studying criminal justice at the University of Arkansas – Pulaski Technical College. “And the application process was so easy!” she added. “There were no extra essays needed, and no extra referrals needed — quick and easy!”
If awarded, recipients can use the funds for any combination of school and/or household expenses that removes a financial burden and helps the student stay in school. Scholarships are combined with wraparound services. This could include workshops, mentorships, and tutoring. The services are meant to create a support system, helping single parents along their higher education journey to graduation and professional employment.
ASPSF awards scholarships to single parents attending school full-time, part-time, and online pursuing associate degrees, bachelor’s degrees, and certificate programs. Eligible applicants have a GED or high school diploma, a 2.0 GPA in past courses, and a household income typically not more than 250% of Federal Poverty Guidelines. The full list of eligibility guidelines is available at aspsf.org/eligibility.
