A Lonoke County man stole a tour bus Thursday morning, and fled through a rail yard in North Little Rock, Arkansas, according to a statement from Arkansas State Police (ASP). He ended up arrested after a chase over railroad tracks. Troopers stopped the bus by shooting the tires.

After a morning pursuit on August 29, 2024, Troopers arrested Elvin Richard, 29, in the Union Pacific rail yard. The incident began at approximately 7:40 a.m., when Richard fled from Troopers on Interstate 40 east. He turned onto Highway 161, then onto the railroad tracks. The bus had been stolen from Little Rock at approximately 3 a.m. Thursday, according to ASP.
The suspect drove the bus into the Union Pacific Rail Yard Terminal, located at 1020 West Bethany, North Little Rock, where a Trooper disabled the bus by shooting its tires. There were no passengers on the bus.
Mr. Richard, who was not injured, was taken into custody and transferred to the Little Rock Police Department. Richard was transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center. ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the officer-involved shooting, while the Little Rock Police Department is the lead agency in the theft investigation.
