at least Wednesday, and could result in 2 to 3 inches of rain in parts of the state. There will also be potential for severe weather on Tuesday, with damaging winds and hail the main hazards.
Monday
A storm system approaching the Natural State will bring chances for showers and
thunderstorms Monday afternoon through at least Wednesday. A 20% chance of showers after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68. For evening a low around 59. South southwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
Tuesday
On Tuesday, some of the thunderstorms could become strong to severe, especially across the southeast half of the state. Hail and damaging winds are the main concerns at this time. High near 66. South southwest wind around 10 mph becoming west northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
In addition to severe weather, heavy rain will be possible, with one to two inches of precipitation expected through Thursday morning.
Midweek
A strong cold front will slowly cross the state late Tuesday. The front will be followed by much colder temperatures and chances for wintry precipitation in the northwest half of Arkansas Wednesday and Thursday. While impacts should be minor, accumulations up to an inch are expected, with up to two inches in the far northwest.
Up to 1.0” of snow is expected across the northwest half of the state, with locally higher amounts near 1.5” possible across the northwest.
