Frost, then sun, then storms. This is Arkansas. The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a frost advisory for overnight until Saturday at 8:00 a.m.
Expect decreasing clouds and winds, and temperatures in the lower to mid 30s, resulting in frost formation. Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered.
This advisory is for portions of Central, Eastern, Southeast, Southwest and Western Arkansas, including the following counties:
Woodruff; Garland; Saline; Pulaski; Lonoke; Prairie; Monroe; Pike; Clark; Hot Spring; Grant; Jefferson; Arkansas; Dallas; Cleveland; Lincoln; Desha; Ouachita; Calhoun; Bradley; Drew; Polk County Lower Elevations; Central and Eastern Montgomery County; Southeast Polk County higher elevations; Southwest Montgomery County higher elevations.
There will be an elevated wildfire danger will be seen for much of the state beginning Saturday afternoon as very dry air will be in place. However, showers and thunderstorms return to the forecast early next week as an active weather pattern moves into the region. There looks to be increasing potential for strong to severe thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Many details regarding the overall threat for severe weather remain uncertain this far out in time.
