According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, it’s going to be a week well in Saline County, with temps dipping on Thursday and rain exiting beginning Thursday. Ice and snow are forecast for areas farther north in the state. The weather statement is below.
After a brief period of dry weather on Tuesday, rain will return from the south late Tuesday night into Wednesday. There may be a few pockets of freezing rain Wednesday morning north or west of Little Rock.
Chances of freezing rain are in the forecast Wednesday night and Thursday morning across the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains. This includes locations north and west of Mena, Morrilton, and Batesville. Ice accruals of a tenth of an inch or less are expected. Farther south and east, rain will continue.
It will turn colder aloft Thursday afternoon and night. This will support light snow over the northern half of Arkansas. By that time, moisture levels will be declining, and this will keep accumulations generally under an inch.
All precipitation will come to an end on Friday, with dry and milder conditions this weekend.
