Tuesday Afternoon and Night:
Colder air will continue to move south through Arkansas today. Temperatures will continue to fall, and will likely remain in the 30s across the central and southern portions of Arkansas during the day. Precipitation will transition to a wintry mix over southern Arkansas into the afternoon hours. It will likely mix and change over several times before ending by late this evening.
Some minor sleet and snowfall accumulations are possible in southern and southeastern Arkansas on grassy areas and elevated surfaces. However, warm ground temperatures should limit accumulations on area roadways, so impacts, if any, are expected to be minimal.
Temperatures tonight into Wednesday morning will drop into the 20s across the entire state. Some patchy ice could develop on wet road surfaces in southern Arkansas, specially on bridges and overpasses, which could cause localized travel impacts.
