The National Weather Service in Little Rock is expecting light snow ❄️ across northern and western Arkansas for Monday afternoon and evening. This forecast reaches southward to the northern half of Garland County and the northern half of Saline County. The forecast calls for a half inch or less in most areas, but 1-2 inch accumulations are possible in some of the higher elevations of the Ozark/Ouachita Mountains.
Low temps will be below freezing for the next several days. That means your outside faucets could freeze and break if you don’t protect them from the weather. It also means the weather is too cold for your pets. Bring them inside.
For areas around Saline County, it may be snow or rain or both on Monday afternoon, with colder air filtering into the area by Monday night. Those together will result in the chance for a light wintry mix for the area late Monday afternoon and Monday night.
Some light accumulations of snow could be seen for portions of western into northwestern and northern Arkansas, and even as far south as central sections. Some minor travel impacts could be seen Monday night as a result, especially on bridges and overpasses.
Expect the potential for wintry weather and hazardous weather to end by Tuesday morning.
