Rain will overspread northern, central, and eastern Arkansas on Friday as the remnants of Hurricane Helene (“L”) track westward through the Tennessee Valley. Rain will become more scattered Friday night as the system continues to weaken.
The heaviest rain will be over northeast Arkansas where two to three inch amounts are expected. Farther west toward Little Rock, quarter to half inch totals are in the forecast. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain will occur over western and southern sections of the state.
A breezy northwest wind will be noted on Friday, with maximum gusts from 25 to 35 mph in northern, central, and eastern Arkansas. Some gusts may exceed 40 mph in the northeast.
