Meteorologists with the National Weather Service in Little Rock issued the following statement Thursday morning.
The threat for heavy rainfall will continue today and into the weekend as remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon move northward. The threat will gradually transition from the southeast, to central, to northern portions of the state.
During the next five days, 3-5 inches of rain are expected, with locally higher amounts expected. Flash Flood Watches continue for portions of Arkansas through at least 7 AM Friday.
As always, we will continue to monitor and adjust the forecast as necessary. Remember that any deviations in the current forecast track could alter the rainfall forecast significantly.
