* AREAS AFFECTED…MOST OF CENTRAL, SOUTH, AND EASTERN ARKANSAS.
* VISIBILITY…ONE QUARTER OF A MILE OR LESS.
* TEMPERATURE…HIGHS IN THE 90S, WITH AFTERNOON HEAT INDICES FROM 105 TO 110 DEGREES THIS AFTERNOON, AND FROM 110 TO 115 DEGREES MONDAY AFTERNOON.
* IMPACTS…REDUCED VISIBILITY WILL CAUSE HAZARDOUS DRIVING
CONDITIONS. IF DRIVING, SLOW DOWN, USE YOUR LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS, AND LEAVE PLENTY OF DISTANCE AHEAD OF YOU. OPPRESSIVE HEAT AND HUMIDITY WILL INCREASE THE RISK OF HEAT RELATED ILLNESS, INCLUDING HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT STROKE. THE VERY YOUNG, THE ELDERLY, AND THOSE WITHOUT ACCESS TO AIR CONDITIONING WILL BE ESPECIALLY VULNERABLE.
