The National Weather Service in Little Rock issued a special weather statement at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2024. Severe weather will be possible today as a Slight Risk (level 2 out of 5) is in place on Wednesday across almost the entire state. Storms are expected to develop along a cold front and progress from north to south across the state beginning this morning and last throughout the day as the front pushes southward. Damaging winds are the main concerns.

Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of southern Perry, Garland, Polk, Saline, Montgomery and central Pulaski Counties through 1045 AM.
At 1019 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 7 miles southeast of Williams Junction to near Mccauley. Movement was south at 45 mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.
