A cold front is expected to impact the state Friday afternoon into Saturday morning. Showers and thunderstorms are expected along and ahead of the front as it pushes across the state from northwest to southeast.
A few storms could briefly become strong to severe, with damaging winds and large hail being the primary threats. While the tornado potential is low, a brief tornado cannot be ruled out. The best chances for seeing severe weather will be across the western to southwest half of the state.
Forecast rainfall amounts around one-quarter to one-half inch are expected across much of the state, with locally higher amounts possible across the west/southwest. These areas could see an inch or more possible. Given above average rainfall so far this year for many areas, isolated flash flooding will be possible through Saturday.
