The National Weather Service in Little Rock expects severe weather and heavy rain to impact the state Wednesday and Thursday. The first round of rain and thunderstorms will progress eastward across the state today. A second round of thunderstorms is expected to develop from late this evening through Thursday morning. The third and final round of thunderstorms is expected to develop Thursday evening as the cold front finally moves across the state.
With multiple rounds of thunderstorms expected to move across the area, several inches of rain will be possible for many. The main area of concern for heavy rain and flash flooding will be from central to southern Arkansas. Unfortunately, the rainfall won’t end by Friday with additional rain chances expected across the state this weekend.
