Widespread rain and thunderstorms are expected across the state Wednesday through Friday, according to the National Weather Service. The severe weather threat encompasses much of the state with the heavy rainfall threat focused across roughly the southern two thirds of the state.
Widespread rain will begin Wednesday and will persist into the
weekend. Severe weather chances will occur Wednesday evening
into Thursday morning. An additional threat for severe weather will occur Thursday afternoon/evening across southern/eastern Arkansas.
• Damaging winds appear to be the main severe weather threat.
• Flash flooding will be a concern, particularly during the Wednesday to Thursday timeframe.
• 7-day rainfall totals could approach 6 inches across the southern half of the state.
