The National Weather Service Little Rock has issued a hazardous weather statement for a large part of Arkansas.
The best chances of showers and thunderstorms will be Tuesday and early Wednesday as a cold front approaches from the Plains and moves across the state. Showers and thunderstorms will become likely Tuesday afternoon and into the nighttime hours.
Some storms may be severe, with damaging winds and large hail the main concerns. There will also be areas of heavy rain. One to more than two inches of precipitation is expected, and this may result in localized flash flooding.

- A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
Tuesday
- Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1pm. Some of the storms could be severe. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 74. South southwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
