The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a statement of Hazardous Weather Outlook for much of Arkansas on Monday.
Expect showers and thunder over northern Arkansas today, while becoming more widespread tonight. Expect areas of heavy rain in central and southern sections of the state.
While there is a chance of severe weather toward the Louisiana border, severe storms will be more likely along the Gulf Coast. The main concern with storms that become severe will be damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.
Rain will exit to the east of the region on Tuesday. Hit and miss showers and thunderstorms will return Tuesday night into Wednesday ahead of a cold front from the northwest. Cooler and drier air will follow the front to end the week. There may even be a freeze across the northern and western counties Saturday morning.
