Thunderstorms will become likely on Monday into Monday night as a cold front moves east through the state, according to the National Weather Service. There’s also a wind advisory until 7:00 p.m. Monday. South winds 20-30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected in portions of central, eastern, north central, southeast, southwest, and western Arkansas.
Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible, especially across the southeast third of the state Monday afternoon and evening. Damaging winds and a few tornadoes could be seen with the strongest storms. Some hail could also be seen, along with some isolated flash flooding.

Breezy southerly winds will continue during the daytime hours on Monday ahead of the cold front. Expect south winds of 20 to 30 mph sustained, with gusts over 40 mph possible. Expect the threat for hazardous weather to become low by late Monday night.
