The National Weather Service in Little Rock is predicting showers and thunderstorms will increase across Arkansas Monday afternoon and night, and will continue into Tuesday.
Areas of heavy rain are expected, especially in southern and eastern Arkansas. The forecast calls for two to more than four inches of rain in the south/east.
A Flood Watch has been posted in southeast Arkansas through Tuesday. The rain is much needed in the south, with an ongoing moderate to extreme drought.
Severe weather will remain largely to the south of the state along the Gulf Coast.
