Saline County is looking at a sunny and beautiful weekend, if a little windy. Take advantage of it, because chances for showers begin on Monday and extend through Wednesday.
The National Weather Service in Little Rock issued a statement Saturday morning with a Hazardous Weather Outlook for a Large Part of Arkansas.
First, on Saturday, expect a high temperature around 68 degrees. Then on Sunday it climbs into the lower 70s. Expect west/northwest winds of 10-15 mph with gusts to 20-25 mph.
A strong storm system will arrive early next week, with the potential for heavy rainfall increasing. We might see 2-3 inches of rain on Monday and Tuesday, especially over portions of southwest, into central and eastern Arkansas. This could lead to an increased threat for flash flooding, as well as possible rises on area rivers.
In addition to the heavy rainfall potential, all modes of severe weather may be possible, including tornadoes. The forecast will continue to be refined over the next couple of days as the system evolves.
