The National Weather Service in Little Rock has upgraded the forecast to include Saline County in the Winter Weather Advisory area.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the much of the northern half of Arkansas Wednesday to Thursday evening. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for a large part of the central portion of Arkansas, including Mena, Hot Springs, the Little Rock Metro Area and West Memphis.

At this time, it appears portions of the metro area could see up to a quarter inch of ice, with the greatest impacts in the northwest portion of the area, especially in the higher elevations.
Expect widespread ice accumulations between a quarter inch to a half inch in much of the warned area, and up to one inch possible in some spots. Some light sleet and snow accumulations up to an inch are also possible.
Power outages and tree damage are possible due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible in areas with the heaviest accumulations. Higher elevation areas are expected to see the greatest impacts.
Ice accumulation of a glaze to one quarter of an inch are forecast, with the highest amounts in the higher terrain of the Ouachita Mountains region.
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
