A storm system is already overspreading the state, bringing showers and a few thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock. Precipitation will continue to expand through the night and continue into Wednesday.

Severe weather is expected to continue to stay on the low side, severe storms cannot be ruled out Wednesday during the day and evening. Rainfall accumulations will range between 1 – 3 inches across the northwest half of the area with lesser amounts across the southeast.
Some locally heavy rainfall is possible with this activity which may result in isolated flash flooding, mainly across the northwestern portion of the area. In addition to breezy northwest winds through Friday, a brief window of light wintry mix is possible across northwestern Arkansas Thursday night into Friday morning.
If any snow accumulates, totals will only be around a couple tenths of an inch and largely confined to elevated or grassy surfaces with no major impacts expected.
