The more pictures you get from the National Weather Service, the more you need to pay attention. And we have a lot of pictures in this report. They even used exclamation points. Let’s get to it:
Winter Storm Watches have been expanded farther south to include much of southwest Arkansas. Winter Storm Warnings will be in effect for roughly the northern third of Arkansas beginning late Tuesday evening. The area of heaviest forecast ice accumulation has shifted south with an upward adjustment to maximum accumulation.

Key points to keep in mind with this winter storm:
Precipitation types and transitions will be messy and complex — this will necessitate continual adjustments to expected accumulations.
There is still uncertainty regarding the aereal coverage and magnitude of ice accumulation across central, eastern, and northeastern Arkansas; however, confidence in seeing damaging effects from ice accumulation is high!
Winds will be breezy throughout the storm and will substantially increase the potential for widespread damage to trees and infrastructure (namely the power grid).
Widespread power outages are likely with outages possibly lasting through the weekend. This will further increase the danger posed by cold temperatures, especially Friday and Saturday mornings.
