Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms will affect the Arkansas region Monday in advance of an approaching storm system and cold front. This morning’s activity will affect mainly northern and western Arkansas. Marginally severe hail and locally heavy rainfall will be the primary threats.
Additional showers and thunderstorms will accompany a cold front that will sweep eastward across Arkansas later this morning and afternoon. Large hail and a few strong wind gusts will be possible with some of these storms. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Additionally, gusty south and southwest winds will be noted later today, with sustained speeds of 10 to 20 mph and gusts up to 30 mph.
Tuesday through Sunday
Light snow accumulations will be possible in the Ozarks Wednesday morning as another system moves through the area. At this time, significant or widespread impacts are not anticipated.
