The National Weather Service in Little Rock issued a Flood Warning effective until 1:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2024.
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring in Saline County.
Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
At 11:13 P.M., Emergency management reported heavy rain in the warned area. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area.

This includes central, eastern, and north central Arkansas, including the following counties, in central Arkansas, Faulkner, Garland, Lonoke, Prairie, Pulaski, Saline and White. In eastern Arkansas, Jackson, Lawrence, Monroe, Randolph and Woodruff. In north central Arkansas, Baxter, Cleburne, Fulton, Independence, Izard, Sharp and Stone.
Expect excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. An active weather pattern will lead to several rounds of heavy rainfall through at least Wednesday evening. Additional rainfall of 2-4 inches are expected with locally higher amounts possible.

There is also a fog advisory in effect until noon Wednesday for portions of central, eastern, southeast, southwest and western Arkansas. This will mean hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility. If you must drive in it, go slow, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
