Some light snow will be possible across northern and eastern Arkansas Thursday, mainly during the morning hours, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock.

Its going to be a very cold day across Arkansas with forecast high temperatures ranging from the mid 20s to mid 40s. Many areas are already close to these numbers and temperatures will remain nearly steady through the day.
A few spots across far NE Arkansas could pick up a bit more than one inch of snow with very light amounts possible elsewhere along and north of I- 40. A cold front is south of Arkansas this morning with colder air in place across the state. Low pressure moving along the front will bring moisture into this colder air mass. The amount of moisture does not appear to be significant but it will be falling into this colder air.

Some light freezing rain (less than one tenth of an inch) may accumulate across eastern portions of the state through early afternoon. This ice may produce some slick spots especially on elevated surface such as bridges and overpasses.
There will be a period through early Thursday afternoon when light wintry precipitation will be possible mainly across the northern and eastern parts of the state. Significant snow/sleet/freezing rain totals are not expected with this setup, but parts of northeastern Arkansas could pick up an inch or two of snow. Some parts of east central Arkansas could see some very light freezing rain. Winter weather advisories are in effect for parts of the state.
