The Office of the Arkansas State Drug Director has produced a fun video about a serious subject, as the annual Drug Take Back Day is coming up on Saturday, October 27th.
Arkansas Drug Director Kirk Lane states a statistic in the video, “On average, 198 people die every day from drug overdoses. If the airlines crashed into the ground and killed 198 people every day, how long would it take to shut down the airlines?”
The video addresses the effects of opioids in the home and on the street, by changing the words to Snoop Dogg’s “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” to fit the cause for expired or unneeded opioids… They want to make sure pills don’t lay around waiting to be stolen or abused. You also should never trash it or flush it – that’s terrible for the environment. The song in the video instead encourages the public to “Drop It In the Box.”
You’ll see lots of Saline County people and places in this video. Visit the Facebook post to read all the video credits. For more information and to find a nearby drop-off location, visit www.artakeback.org.
