This match, versus Nashville Knights FC is Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 6:30 p.m.
Benton has hosted thousands of youth soccer games, but this is the first time the City has hosted a soccer match of this magnitude. The game will feature players from all over the world. This event comes after the City of Benton purchased C.W. Lewis Stadium and other properties from the U of A Little Rock.
Sean Paul Jones, the founder and General Manager of the Arkansas Wolves talks about the long-term potential of soccer in Benton: “We are very excited about the chance to play one of our matches in Benton,” says Jones. “Saline County is a hotbed of talent with great youth programs and several very competitive local teams.”
Jones has been in talks for weeks with Benton Mayor Tom Farmer’s office and the Parks & Recreation Department about utilizing Lewis Stadium as a venue for the match.
“The City and the Parks Department have been great to work with,” says Jones. “They’ve been very helpful and we are very pleased with the hospitality they have shown us.”
